2017 Easter Week Services at First Parish [ 2017-03-17 ]
Good Friday Healing Service — Friday, April 14 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary
A quiet, reflective service of healing. This service consists of reflections on the seven last sayings of Jesus interspersed with silence and beautiful music. We reflect on the reality that life and death, sorrow and joy are intertwined and we invite all to enter into the story of Jesus’ death in order to prepare ourselves spiritually for the renewal of Easter morning. This service is appropriate for adults and teenagers. Childcare will be available during the service. Those who are grieving the death of loved ones or any life losses have found this service to be helpful and healing.
Sunrise Easter Service — Sunday, April 16 at 5:45 am at 100 Hollis Street, Groton
All are welcome for the annual Easter Sunrise Service that will take place in the field behind Bob and Becky Pine’s house (100 Hollis Street in Groton) with a beautiful view of the sun rising over Gibbet Hill. Dress warmly, hope for clear skies, bring your coffee and your dog and come greet Easter morning. If the weather is very rainy (or snowy!) call the church office and listen to the outgoing message or check the church’s facebook page to make sure the service will be held.
