Remember the Peace There Is In Silence   [ 2008-03-21 ]

Joining together in times of music, prayer, and silence are all deep wells of nourishment for our souls. Thus, the Worship Committee is asking the congregation to respect each of these aspects of Sunday worship.

When we gather in the sanctuary, please consider the desire of many for silence during the ringing of the bell and the Prelude. Rebecca Pike, our bell ringer, is dedicated to carrying on the meaningful tradition of ringing in our worship time together. Shawn McCann's amazing choices for the Prelude help set the mood for the services, and should be enjoyed — to the best of our ability — in silence and reflection. We understand that children will have a harder time sitting quietly. However, we ask everyone to help create an atmosphere of contemplation after Shawn rings the prayer bell, signaling the beginning of the service. Those who arrive a little late will be met outside the sanctuary doors by the ushers, who will indicate that a quiet entrance is necessary at that time.

Thank you for your support and understanding in balancing our worship and fellowship time together so that it is enjoyable and enriching for everyone!
